Tilt Four★ Original

Four in a row with a twist: once per game you can turn the whole board on its side and let every disc fall to the new bottom. Solve daily tilt puzzles, beat four computer characters, or play a friend.

How to play Tilt Four

  1. The board is 7 columns by 7 rows. Coral goes first, then you take turns.
  2. On your turn, either drop a disc into a column (it falls to the lowest empty space) or use your tilt.
  3. Tilting turns the whole board a quarter turn left or right. Then every disc falls straight down to the new bottom.
  4. Each player gets one tilt per game, and you can't tilt an empty board. The tilt buttons disappear once you've used yours.
  5. Make four in a row — across, up and down, or diagonally — to win. If a tilt makes four for both players at once, the player who tilted wins. If it only makes four for the opponent, the opponent wins.
  6. If the board fills up with no four in a row, the game is a draw.

Strategy tips

  • Save your tilt. As long as you still have it, your opponent can never be sure a double threat will hold.
  • Before you tilt, picture it: tilting left makes the left wall the floor, so each row slides into a column, left-most disc at the bottom.
  • A row with gaps can become a solid line after a tilt. Three discs and a gap in a row may already be a hidden threat.
  • Watch your opponent's tilt too. If they still have one, check what both tilts would do to the board before you build your trap.
  • When your opponent has used their tilt, the game becomes classic four in a row — so the middle columns matter most.

Three ways to play

Solo: tilt puzzles — a fresh challenge every day, the same for everyone. vs Computer: four characters from Rookie Robo (easy) to Grandmaster Owl (expert); beat each one to earn its star. vs Friend: pass the device, or send an invite link and play online — no account needed.

Variants

Solo has five new "Win in 2 (tilts allowed)" puzzles every day — many can only be solved with a well-timed tilt. In vs Computer you swap who goes first each game, and the computer characters know how to use their tilt too.

About Tilt Four

Tilt Four is a PlayTrova original. It keeps the simple rules of classic four-in-a-row gravity games and adds one bold move per player: tip the whole board on its side. A single tilt can turn a losing position into a win, break your opponent's best trap, or hand them the game, so both players have to think about the board from three directions at once.

FAQ

What happens when you tilt the board?

The board turns a quarter turn — left (anticlockwise) or right (clockwise) — and then every disc falls straight down until it lands on the floor or another disc. Rows become columns, and gaps close up.

What if a tilt makes four in a row for both players?

The player who tilted wins — they took the risk. But if the tilt only makes four for the other player, the other player wins, so look before you tilt.

How many times can I tilt?

Once per game for each player. You can't tilt an empty board, and you can't drop a disc in the same turn you tilt.

Can I play Tilt Four with a friend online?

Yes. Choose vs Friend, then "Invite with a link", and send the link. You play browser to browser — no account needed.
